Pictures

I thought maybe some of you might just possible be interested in what my room looks like, so I took a few pictures. Taken from my couch, here they are from left to right: [1], [2], [3].

You’ll just have to come up and see what I mean about it feeling like I have more space than before, Sam.

Sam and I spent something like an hour and a half driving all over town looking for Lisa, whose car was giving her lots of evil trouble. It was kind of frustrating, because we couldn’t find her. She got home OK though.

Cougar

I know it’s been a while, but I’m finally posting the pictures of that dumb-looking Cougar. You’ll find them here, here, and here. I might post some more of various stupid cars if I remember to take my camera with me when I go places.

Well, one week down, many to go. Things went well this week, but once lab starts (one more week without) life won’t be so nice.

Ugly Mercury

I was walking back from my car to my room earlier, and I saw something that might inspire me to make nifty updates to my web site. It was a Mercury Cougar XR-7, the older, more powerful, less nifty looking cougar. It’s a throwback to before Ford started making nice looking cars again. This Cougar was ’special’ though. It had a huge ugly wing attached to the trunk. I think that I should get a picture of this car and others like it, like the Dodge Intrepid Sam and I once saw outside La Fuente. I could compile these pictures into a section called ‘pathetic rice’ and then update it whenever I see a really pathetic rice car. The only real problem is that this would mean I’d have to carry my camera around with me. What do you guys think of this idea?

Oh, and class starts tomorrow.

Moved In

After about 2 days and a lot of pain in the ass labor, I am almost completely moved into the dorms. Now my only real thought is “I want to stay in the apartment.” :( I had more room and everything else. This place just feels cramped.

I got my Grado headphones today. A side-by-side comparison left my Koss headphones sitting in the dust sobbing with their pitiful shitty sounding sobs. Yes, I like the Grados a lot.

Stephanie got a new job. It’ll be a lot better for her, I think, but I’ll miss her a lot so I’m sad anyway.

Devin

This is the reason I love Devin Townsend’s voice. It’s the part from Touching Tongues where he kind of goes nuts. Thank goodness for Steve Vai.

My headphones have shipped.

Hangover

Today I experienced the worst hangover of the summer.

I went over to Robert and Elizabeth’s last night for a kind of end of the summer drink beer and watch a movie thing, since he’s leaving on Tuesday. We bought a German Weizen (an unfiltered wheat beer), which was excellent, and watched Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels. Then we started acting kind of silly, and Robert mixed up some very alcoholic drinks. I’m sure Amanda enjoyed watching us three drunk people running around the apartment.

By the way, Amanda, even though I’m sure you aren’t reading this page or anything, you make a mean bloody mary. I’ll have to have another sometime.

Headphones

OK, so yesterday I ordered a set of Panasonic RPHT1000 headphones, right? Today the company I ordered them from emailed me saying they don’t have them anymore and cancelled my order. Therefore today I went to a different store and ordered a pair of Grado SR60s. They’re supposed to be a whole lot better anyway. I just want a nice pair of headphones to replace the shit that is my $15 Koss phones.

I hate waiting for shipping.

Dusan

Today I was over at Dusan’s for the second time in as many days. Wow.

Thanks to this blasted rain, I will probably have to thresh crap again tomorrow. Threshing sucks because it’s noisy and dusty and hot and itchy and boring.

The Zone

I’m going out to the Zone tonight. I haven’t been to a bar in a long time.

i don’t mind reliving
all the things that were so good when we were young
and i don’t mind reliving
i was so much happier back then

The Jelly Jam

Emily

I got together with Emily Watts for a little while tonight. It was good to talk to her again. I’d really only talked to her once in about three years, when Sam and I ran into her in Target. Even that was only for a few minutes. I’m glad I got to sit down and talk with her for a couple hours rather than a few minutes. She really hasn’t changed much, which I think is good.

I should write her more often, rather than the once in a great long long while email stuff.
